About this Site
Let me start off by giving you a little history. I began my Linux journey not
too long ago when my Windows instillation decided to get itself stuck
in an infinite boot loop after an update. Because this is the computer I used for school work you can
imagine the joy I felt when this happened...NOT! After spending several weeks trying to get the dang thing
to work I finally gave up and decided I just wanted to reformat my harddrive start over. Now i consider myself
pretty computer savvy (I am studying to become a computer engineer after all), but at the time I had virtually
no knowledge of Linux other than the fact that it existed, so I figured I'd do a little research. Oh and by
research I mean google. The more I googled the more I became interested and I figured
hey why not it couldn't hurt anything.
A couple hours later, after more googling, I decided Ubuntu was the right choice for me. Seemed
user friendly and easy to get into, so I went with it, and what do you know I ended up liking it.
Since then everything has been running smoothly except for the occasional problem. These problems,
however can be pretty daunting when you don't know anything about Linux. This is the reason I decided
to create this site.
Basically the purpose of this site is to write about any problems I've been able to fix and share
them with the world. Most of the tutorials will probably be associated with Ubuntu because thats the
distrubution of Linux I happened to install and the only one I've used, but hopefully anything I post will also work
with other distrubutions too. I dont really know. Anyway, the idea is to help out other beginners
who run into the same problems.
I'm also going to use this site to teach myself PHP, so bear with mith me if you run into any errors while browsing the
tutorials or whatever else. Feel free to correct me if I make any mistakes or if you have any suggestions. I'm not sure
how I'm going to set up a way for you to contact me yet, but hopefully that'll come soon.
